Volunteering at KKCR has given me the opportunity to share my love for Hawaiian music. This is a small way I can give back to the islands that give me so much. |
During Ho’onanea you will hear the music from the "Hawaiian Renaissance" era of the 70's and 80's and, of course, musicians of this era. I have much love for the islands, the people, the culture and of course, the music. A native of Honolulu, Hawaiian music is what I first remember hearing as a child. My parents raised me on their vinyl albums of Alfred Apaka, Jesse Kalima, Andy Cummings and so many more. I cannot imagine my life without Hawaiian music!
Call me! There is nothing like receiving a phone call saying you enjoy listening to what I have selected or asking me to play a request for you. Music, after all, is a language we can all understand.
