One day, early in it's history, KKCR put out a request for some assistance in the use of the Hawaiian language. I had studied some Hawaiian language, culture and history, and so I volunteered my assistance to KKCR in their effort to provide more accurate information and use of the Hawaiian language.I was invited to the station to have a look around, was taught how to play CDs on the air and was soon left alone in the studio to carry on. That was my start as a disc jockey at Kauai Community Radio and it's been a lot of fun ever since.
