SATURDAYS 10am to NOON
My name is Steven J, and I want to welcome you to enjoy KKCR’s My Generation, every Saturday morning from 10 AM to 12 PM (HST). The show is a 60’s rock ‘n roll show that plays songs of the 50’s, 60’s & 70’s, along with rock trivia, news, interviews and commercials from that very same era. The show is a “stroll down amnesia lane”, intending to transport you, the listener, back to a gentler era of innocence, yet quite turbelount at the same time: Civil Rights, the Cold War, Vietnam, Sit-Ins, Love-Ins, the Sexual Revolution and the USA/USSR Moon Race. The music of the 60’s was moving us, as young people, from what once was a more innocent time to an awakening of new music, new rock groups, transforming culture and the baby boomers in one fail swoop; the new “My Generation”.
Now we’re aging, that’s for sure, but the music was, and perhaps still is, “the soundtrack of our lives”, as Dick Clark would say. BTW, I love to take requests! Your requests are what guide me in programing my playlist of music, rock interviews and comments live on the air; in present time.
Please join me, Steven J, your host, every Saturday morning from 10 AM to 12 PM (HST) to enjoy the music, history and culture of “a time long, long ago, in a galaxy far, far away.…talking ’bout My Generation…”
