KING ZOR
KING ZOR
King Zor has left the (remote North Shore jungle) building. He passed, surrounded by love, on 3/2/22. King Zor was a compassionate and kind man, and a dedicated and enthusiastic volunteer. He’ll dwell deeply in many hearts forever.
King Zor (also known as King Zorbud and KZB) has been an integral part of the station for many years. The shows he hosted include Freaks and Geeks (his first KKCR show!), the King Zor show, the Throne of Tone, and his most recent audio adventure, the Pau Hana Happy Hour. He was also Michele Rundgren’s cheerful side-kick on Chick Rock, Chick Talk, and a cherished member of the Garden Island Bluegrass show’s in-house band on Tuesday afternoons.
King Zor exuded joy and lust for life. He could be incredibly silly – for example, making up days of the week at a bud gathering (today is Bloffyday!). He loved to dance and make music, enjoy herb and tinker, do improv and share love.
His Zorian Viking heart was huge and welcoming. Many who reflect on KZB remember his positivity, inclusiveness, amiability, and radiant smile. He was a dependable and enthusiastic worker, a trusted and reliable bud.
We may honor the memory of dear King Zor by spreading joy and tolerance, kindness and acceptance, patience and goofiness, music – and most definitely, love!
Cheers to the King! Rock in Perpetuity (RIP) dear bud ♥
