Sound Life is a new one-hour weekly KKCR program with Jill Mattson and Drew Givens exploring the living relationship between sound, light, frequency, healing, consciousness, and culture. The show is designed as a 52-week journey that begins with accessible foundations like waves, resonance, entrainment, rhythm, voice, breath, silence, nature sounds, and light, then gradually opens into deeper territory: sacred number patterns in music, ancient sound traditions, cymatics, tuning systems, body systems, altered states, dream consciousness, Human Design, and the possibility that sound and light can reconnect us with Source.
Rather than a standard interview or podcast-style conversation, Sound Life is structured as an unfolding curriculum for radio: each episode introduces a clear concept, offers musical and sensory examples from across cultures and eras, and closes with a simple practice listeners can explore in daily life. The first phase will focus on building a strong, beautiful, station-compliant one-hour format while Drew and Jill become fully comfortable with KKCR equipment, underwriter announcements, and live broadcast requirements. The goal is to create a distinctive, educational, and spiritually nourishing program that deepens listener engagement, supports KKCR’s public-service mission, inspires donations, and offers underwriters a meaningful association with thoughtful, uplifting community radio.
